Manchester United Continue Talk Marco Reus

Marco Reus’ future has always attracted a lot of interest as his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of the 2022/23 season.

When questioned about the club’s captain’s future on Saturday, Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl showed a hesitant posture.

“A decision beyond the summer has not yet been made. We’re not ready yet. But there is a clear trend. We will make a decision in the next few weeks, not in April or May.” Kehl said.

According to BILD sources, Reus will have to reduce his salary by 50% to stay at BVB after the end of the season.

It is reported that Dortmund are ready to offer Reus a new one-year contract, but only if he agrees to a significantly reduced wage.

The 33-year-old is currently the highest earner in the BVB squad with an annual salary of 12 million euros. But BVB bosses are offering him an annual salary of €6m plus performance-related bonuses.

As reported by WAZ, Reus wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund after the end of the season. And the Germany international has also repeatedly said last year that his wish is to stay with the yellow and black shirt team until the end of his playing career.

The BILD revealed that a decision on Reus’ future is expected to be made by April at the latest.

The information is clearly not very happy for United, when the Old Trafford team is said to be particularly interested in Reus.

In the last winter transfer window, it was reported that the Red Devils had talks with Reus’ representative. However, United may have to give up his goal when Reus is always attached to Dortmund for the rest of his career.

Reus is just 19 goals behind to become Borussia Dortmund’s all-time leading scorer, having made a total of 374 appearances since joining the club in 2012.
