Lionel Messi’s exit for more than a year has forced Barcelona in a tragic situation, but they have now found Robert Lewandowski of replacing the Argentine superstar’s gap.
Lewandowski’s signing has raised several questions, both inside the club and from outsiders, primarily because of his age.
Some fans are unwilling to spend 50 million euros on Lewandowski given Barca’s financial situation. Even so, the Polish striker proved every unfavorable theory in just three games. Lewandowski has formed and is performing like he’s been at Barca for a very long time.
Lewandowski is one of Barca players who has a natural instinct to score goals. There were some questions after the first game when Barcelona 0-0 against Rayo Vallecano. But it turned out to be a false negative.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez still shows his confidence on Lewandowski after a short time working together.
“I am happy with Lewandowski’s performance. He’s working for the team.”Xavi said.
“Robert and everyone else was frustrated with the result, but we have to keep working. It’s a matter of time for Lewandowski to start scoring goals,” he added.
Lewandowski is currently with Borja Iglesias leading the Pichichi race with 4 goals in 3 games. His average scoring rate is comparable to what he has done in Germany and with Barca’s greatest player Messi.
The 34-year-old striker had made it clear towards the end of the last season that he did not wish to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich and had his heart set on a mode to Camp Nou.
There is a feeling and a belief that, with Lewandowski’s ambition, enthusiasm, and fighting spirit, combined with the talented young players hungry for trophies in the squad.
Barcelona will see a Lewandowski catch fire in the near future with Pedri, Dembele, Raphinha, or Ansu Fati always ready for action.
